Thousands of Australians donated generously to the RSPCA during the devastating bushfire crises of 2019-2020 in order to protect animals affected by such emergencies.

We have used a large portion of the funds to provide urgent services to animals on the ground. But we are also very aware that our work continues for many more months and years so as to continue caring for and protecting the animals long into the future.

We are pleased to announce that the RSPCA will fund a number of important initiatives specific to the 2019-2020 Bushfires in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, South Australia, the ACT, with a special focus on native animals.

These projects will help protect Australian animals in the present and the future. They may include upgrading wildlife care facilities or creating specific capabilities for rescuing, triaging, and treating animals affected by bushfires.

We have a total of $6 million, which we will allocate to these important projects. This is thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners and the contributions from the local community.

In the weeks and months to come, we will be sharing more details about these projects and keeping you updated on the progress. We at the RSPCA want to say a huge thank you from now on to all our supporters. We can help Australian animals in the present but also protect them in the future.
