5 reasons to get your bake on for RSPCA Cupcake Day
RSPCA Cupcake Day brings together bakers across the country to take a stand in support of animal welfare. Cupcake Day is on Monday, 20 August. It’s almost time to bake some cakes.
Why you should get involved
1. Eat a lot of baked goods (obviously!)
What else could you ask for? Cupcake Day can be a sweet way to raise money for charity. Despite its name, you are welcome to bake other treats such as brownies, slices, and more. You can do whatever you want!
The chance to be the host with the most
You can host your own Cupcake Day wherever and however you want!
When you register, we will send you a special host kit to help you make the most of Cupcake Day! This kit includes all the essentials: a host’s guide, a pop-up donation container, decorative bunting, and promotional posters!
Get your family, friends, and colleagues together.
You could host a party or bake sale in your home, ask for donations at work, or bring cupcakes with you! You can use this as an excuse to get all the animal lovers in your life together.
All you need is loose change.
If you can sell each cupcake at a modest $2, then:
Twelve cupcakes will provide a kitten with a litter tray, a meal, and a toy.
Twenty-five cupcakes are enough to cover a week’s worth of antibiotics for an animal that is recovering from surgery.
Fifty cupcakes are enough to desex a dog or cat so that they can be adopted.
One hundred twenty cupcakes could pay for a pet’s emergency surgery.
One hundred seventy-five cupcakes are worth the cost of a court case against a person who has committed cruelty.
You are helping animals in need.
Cupcake Day proceeds will be used to support the RSPCA’s ongoing efforts in helping animals in need. We can keep our animal shelters and inspectors on their way. We can continue our education programs, which educate the community on important topics such as animal welfare and care.
